April 14-17, 2011

The 20th Annual Canadian Conference on HIV/AIDS Research - CAHR 2011 - will be held April 14-17, 2011 at The Westin Harbour Castle in Toronto, Ontario.

The theme of CAHR 2011, “Honouring our history, embracing our diversity” was chosen to recognize that it is CAHR’s 20th annual conference. We would like to honour all that has been done by Canadian researchers, health care providers, community members and especially people living with HIV who have dedicated much time and effort to develop more effective HIV prevention, treatment, care and support. CAHR 2011 is being held in Toronto, one of the most culturally diverse cities in the world, and will highlight the strengths that our diverse communities bring to the fight against HIV/AIDS, and the ways in which increasing inclusiveness can support the care of vulnerable groups.

Once again, CAHR will have a stellar program of world-renowned speakers. Connect with researchers, frontline public health and community-based workers, people living with HIV and AIDS and others interested in the field of HIV research in Toronto for CAHR 2011.

Held at The Westin Harbour Castle from Thursday, April 14th to Sunday, April 17th, attendees will meet to share the outcomes of new research; to honour new investigators and to acknowledge the achievements of major contributors to the field; to discuss some of the wider issues related to the HIV/AIDS pandemic; and to elect a Council to carry on the work of the Association.

Experience Toronto

Toronto is one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world; a place where international ideas intersect with Canadian culture. A centre of rare openness, warmth, energy and style, Toronto is enriched by traditions, passions and perspectives on life of the more than 100 cultures found here.

A city of contrasts, Toronto’s skyline includes the CN Tower, one of the Modern Wonders of the World, and glass skyscrapers juxtaposed with historic limestone facades. Miles of waterfront, boardwalks, parks and trails nestle together with urban delights like cafés, artisans’ exhibits and one-of-a-kind shops. It's no wonder that Toronto has been chosen as the location to host the 20th Annual Conference on HIV/AIDS Research.
